About

I was a charge nurse on an Intensive Therapy Unit for many years, but decided to change my career to follow my dream in photography. After gaining qualifications from Newcastle college, I photographed mainly, Social documentary/Urban decay, depicting the work on the Tyne and the decline of industries in the region. This work has been exhibited locally at the Laing Gallery in Newcastle upon Tyne, South Shields Museum and St. Marys Island visitors centre.
I have also worked for the Port of Tyne Authority, a local architect and the Fish Quay in North Shields.

Due to serious back injuries I was obliged to change my direction and was drawn to the beauty of nature, growth & renewal, a contrast to my previous work. My flower and plant photography became part of my healing and recovery process, and is now an important aspect of my life and is a continuous joy giving me great pleasure. I hope you find this reflected in my work.
